This modern Chanel bag looks as if it could have stepped out of the 1980s. One of the most memorable images from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit “The Model As Muse” was from Peter Lindbergh. Lindbergh is a German photographer famous for his moody black and white photos. In the 1980s, he used a pre-gentrified DUMBO as a location for many shoots. The images above are from a 1991 Vogue shoot, “Wild At Heart”. It was styled by Grace Coddington, the breakout star in “The September Issue”. The clothing in the top image and jewelry/belt in the second image are all Chanel. Chanel was famous for it’s bold jewelry and accessories in the ’80s.

We will be posting this fantastic bag at our eBay store this Sunday.

This Hermes Medor Collier de Chein belt is a classic in many ways. The design is from 1929 and the combination of black leather and gold hardware will stay in style forever. According to popular belief, the design was originally for an Hermes client’s bulldog – hence the name, “Collier de Chien” or “dog collar”. Hermes uses the hardware on watches, clutches, cuffs and belts.

We will be posting this vintage beauty at our eBay store, this Sunday, November 29. Mark your calendars!

Romeo Gigli is another designer who defined the ’80s. Gigli’s clothes were immediately identifiable due to his signature use of heavy beading, draping, velvet, brocade, chiffon, gauze and silk. His romantic, ethereal style was a perfect match for the photographer, Paolo Roversi. They collaborated on many of Gigli’s most memorable ad campaigns.

Dawn Mello is a legendary figure in the fashion industry. She is best known for defining Bergdorf Goodman over a 20 year career and for Gucci’s revamp with Tom Ford. For over 40 years, she was responsible for nurturing the careers of many talents in the business. Romeo Gigli was one of them.

We have an amazing Romeo Gigli beaded jacket that used to belong to Dawn Mello. There is a handwritten tag that says “Dawn Mello. September 1989.”

This is your opportunity to own a bit of fashion history. We will be posting it at our eBay store over the next few weeks.
