Style.com’s Sarah Mower raved about Alber Elbaz’s Spring 2008 show for Lanvin. She called it his “best to date”. We have two pairs of the peeptoe platform pumps from this collection. We just listed a very special Martin Margiela hybrid coat/jacket on our eBay store. It is appears to be from the late ’80s/early ’90s and is cerebral, deconstructed Margiela at his best. This particular garment is bound to be a collector’s item as Margiela has finally left his company after much speculation.
Thierry Mugler: ’80s Icon
Thierry Mugler’s clothes and photographs defined fashion in the 1980s. His clothes starred in George Michael’s famous video, “Too Funky”, along with ’80s supermodels: Linda, Christy, Naomi, Nadja Auermann, Karen Mulder, Estelle and Tyra Banks. Check it out here: Too Funky: George Michael
Last year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibited the video and Mugler’s clothes at the “Model as Muse” show. Beyonce was so inspired by the video and clothes, she asked Mugler to design the costumes for her current tour.
We just received this vintage Thierry Mugler dress at the store. We look at it and automatically think of Mugler’s famous photos and of course, That Video.
