At Auction: Louis Vuitton Multicolor Monogram Collage Bag

vuitton_multi3

In 2003, Takashi Murakami, the Japanese artist, collaborated with Louis Vuitton on a wildly successful collection of bags. His bright, colorful style was a refreshing change of pace. The bags sold out almost immediately. The 2007 documentary “Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton” by director Loic Prigent explored the creative process behind the frenzy. The special features section included a chapter on the Tribute Patchwork bag. The Patchwork was composed of 15 different Louis Vuitton bags sewed together to create a new bag. Only 20 were made and they retailed for about $40,000 each.

This collage style of this bag is reminiscent of the Tribute Patchwork. It is currently listed at our eBay store.
